Fluid Services
Contamination and degraded fluid quality cause inefficient operation, component wear and eventually failure in all hydraulic and lubrication systems. Let us help you better understand some predictive and preventive maintenance practices that will help keep your system running at full capacity more frequently.
Important Steps to ensure you are controlling contamination in your system.
- Create a list of the critical components within your system
- Consult the manufacturer to ensure proper fluid is being used
- Ensure proper flows, pressures, and temperatures are in use
- Keep a record of the types of filters being used in the system
- Have regular oil samples taken for lab analysis and consult us on the results.
Our tests include Particle Counts, Water Content, Viscosity, Patch Tests, Total Acid Number, and Spectrographic Analysis and can be catered to whatever your need.
Our tests include Status and Recommendations.
Particle Count and ISO or NAS Codes - particle contamination is responsible for the most wear in hydraulic systems, these results are available in either NAS or ISO Standards.
Water Content - high levels of water in oil encourages oxidation, corrosion, and cavitation. Using the Karl Fisher Method determines the water content and displays in Parts Per Million (ppm) and in Percent (%). Critical upper limits are given.
Viscosity - maintaining the correct viscosity is important for achieving long component service life. Graphs showing viscosity trends along with the limits allow for quick recognition of
abnormal situations.
Total Acid Number - shows when oil oxidation has increased above the acceptable levels and alerts the customer to change oil to prevent damage from occurring to your equipment.
Spectrographic Analysis - allows for you to understand what metals are making up the contamination and form this you can source the problem or component that is creating contamination.
